We absolutely love goulash at our house!



Goulash is a hearty and flavorful dish that can be made healthier with a few simple modifications. By using lean cuts of meat such as chicken or turkey instead of beef, you can reduce the amount of saturated fat in the dish. Adding plenty of vegetables like bell peppers, tomatoes, and carrots not only boosts the nutritional content but also adds color and texture. Opting for whole grain pasta or brown rice instead of white noodles can increase the fiber content of the meal. Seasoning with herbs and spices instead of salt can help reduce sodium intake. By making these small changes, you can enjoy a delicious and nutritious bowl of healthy goulash.


Healthier Goulash


Ingredients


  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 box whole grain pasta

  • 1/2 jar spaghetti sauce

  • 1/2 jar Alfredo sauce

  • 1c cherry tomatoes

  • 2c fresh spinach

  • Shaved Parmesan cheese


Directions


Brown ground beef. Meanwhile, cook the noodles. Add sauce, tomatoes, and fresh spinach to cooked beef. Cover until spinach is cooked through. Top with Parmesan cheese & enjoy!
